A note from Mrs. Smith:

Why do I teach? With my farm life upbringing and teaching lineage it did not come as a surprise to most that I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2010 with a BS in Agricultural Development Production Systems with a minor in Education.  In 2012, I was welcomed to the Creek and back to my Conroe roots. I have the pleasure of teaching all Vet Tech prerequisites along with Floral Design.  We prepare our students to qualify for the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) Vet Assistant Level 1 certification and the Texas State Floral Association (TVMA) certification for high school students.  I enjoy offering our high school students hands-on learning experiences that can lead to personal and career success.

Why Caney Creek FFA? I also encourage all my students to get involved in our local FFA chapter.  As a team of FFA Advisors, we consistently strive to advise our members to achieve success in Fall Leadership Development Events (LDEs), Spring Career Development Events (CDEs), as well as year long SAE projects.  We also have student led committees that organize many community service and student development activities.  For upcoming dates and further information please explore our chapter's website.  (In our constant effort of communicating to our chapter, parents and students are strongly advised to sign up for text messaging notifications. This option is found in the top navigation on our FFA website.)

Family? My wonderfully supportive husband is a software developer for a company in The Woodlands, Texas.  Together we planted roots mere miles from my parents and the ranch I grew up on.  We have three furry children: Elly, a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd cross, Mila, a Miniature American Shepherd, and new to our family, Rosco, another Miniature American Shepherd.  We also have three precious children.
