A little about Ms.Grissom:

My little family: 

College: I am a proud Sam Houston State Bearkat. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Major in Animal Science- Minor in Equine Science/ Agriculture Education. Being a part of the collegiate SHSU horse judging team was so fun and traveling to see all different kinds of horses was a wonderful experience. SHSU's agriculture department is rich in agriculture history and tradition; something I have carried with me in my passion to teach students the many venues agriculture now has to offer.

              

Farm Life: My family grows, cuts, bales ,and hauls our own hay. We also have a family run cattle ranch out in west Texas where we raise Brangus/ Angus cattle. I have always loved horses and have ridden both English and Western. I showed through AQHA and my little sister and I rode in the local Pee Wee rodeo club. Growing up my siblings and I showed heifers and steers, as well as occasionally showing rabbits. As a family we also enjoy hunting and fishing. We are a very Agriculture based family and love to help others along their journey showing.


      



My passion: Since I have always had a huge heart for animals, I have been known to bring animals in need home with me. My family has horses and angus registered cattle. We did rescue Snickers, a Tennessee Walker and Tucker was my colt I broke and trained at SHSU through their colt breaking classes. I have rescued many dogs and kept a few for myself. Shiner is a rotti mix my former students brought to school and Mindy my Boston Terrier whom was given to me thinks she is queen bee and runs my house.
